our highest value and way of life, and it has been running through our veins from generation to generation<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"alt-font\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">Among vineyards for centuries<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><Our wine-growing tradition is over 500 years old. According to genealogy books and other records, it dates back to 1400. Also dating back to that year is the oldest known mention of our family name in Dornberk, which was a record of the payment for a feudal estate for the vineyard we still own today.Our long-established tradition is proof of perseverance and dedication. Stanka, a food technologist, and Matja\u017e, an agronomist, had a common vision and goal. To set up a family estate following the example of people we met abroad\u2014in Italy and France\u2014as students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We began with a small one-hectare vineyard and a one-hectare peach orchard, knowledge and the determination to make our dreams come true.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We decided at the very beginning that our family would live off the estate, making it our only source of income. We have been following this vision ever since.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">With time and effort, our current estate gradually grew from small beginnings. Our vineyards extend over 32 hectares in the Vipava Valley. All grapes from our vines turn into wine under our own Berce brand.
